【DIMF 2023】The 14th Dean Machine Tool International Machine Tool Exhibition Concludes Successfully
From June 5 to 8, the 14th DIMF International Machine Tool Exhibition (hereinafter referred to as DIMF) was held at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center and the Changwon Seongju Plant in South Korea. More than 4,500 visitors from 55 countries, including China, South Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Italy, attended, marking an unprecedented success. Beijing Smart technology Co.,ltd., as a Class S agent of DIMF, sent its Chairman Li Hongyan and regional sales directors to Korea to participate in the event.

DIMF is an international machine tool exhibition that Dean Machine Tools has been hosting biennially since 1997, aiming to showcase the company’s latest models and technologies. To date, it has attracted more than 40,000 visitors from both domestic and international markets and featured over 700 new machine tools. At this year’s event, Dean Machine Tools presented more than 40 new models and introduced an expanded lineup of solutions, including 5-axis machines, integrated machining systems, high‑productivity automation solutions, and smart manufacturing platforms, highlighting emerging trends in machine tool technology and the digitalization of manufacturing.
The main exhibition hall at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center is organized around six themes: automation, DX & CNC, smart technologies & AI, ESG, and machining technologies. It showcases new machine models featuring Dean Machine Tools’ latest machining innovations, a wide array of automated solutions, and robotic systems—including collaborative robots and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs)—drawing significant attention from visitors. Notably, wireless IIoT technologies leveraging BLE, wireless measurement‑interface solutions, and voice‑recognition technologies highlight Dean Machine Tools’ strategic direction in smart manufacturing applications. In the ESG zone, spray‑free oil‑mist purification solutions were presented, along with approaches to miniaturize purification equipment and minimize motor power consumption. The event also hosted numerous technical seminars featuring direct discussions with industry experts, during which information on electric‑vehicle‑specific machine models, emerging machining‑technology trends, and digital‑twin technologies was shared.
The second exhibition hall, Changwon Seongju Plant, is a facility equipped with large‑scale machining infrastructure tailored to industries such as oil, gas, and aerospace. At this trade show, it showcased specialized machining equipment capable of meeting the demands of friction stir welding for large workpieces, including a random-access memory system (PUMA VTR 2025M) suited for the aerospace components sector and a multi‑functional gantry‑type machining center (DBM 1525s) designed for mold‑making applications.
Kim Won-jong, CEO of Dean Machine Tools, stated: “At this year’s DIMF, we showcased machine tools and solutions incorporating Dean Machine Tools’ latest technologies, demonstrating that we have transcended the role of a mere machine tool manufacturer to become a provider of comprehensive manufacturing‑industry solutions. Moving forward, Dean Machine Tools will continue to drive technological innovation and develop cutting-edge models, forging a digital transformation in manufacturing and striving to remain at the forefront of global technological excellence.”
