15th Anniversary Message from Shenming | Automation Lines Empower Efficient Production of Automotive Components
For China to realize its grand vision of becoming a “global automotive powerhouse,” it must first establish itself as a world leader in the automotive components sector. To take the lead in this field, companies must not only achieve world‑class design and R&D capabilities but also master production and manufacturing technologies at the highest international standards. Yet today, domestic automotive component manufacturers still fall far short of this goal. For this very reason, I have been actively seeking enterprises that can help us attain it. While importing advanced foreign manufacturing technologies is an option, pursuing that path would relegate us to the role of followers rather than pioneers—preventing us from ever becoming leaders or trailblazers.
My relationship with Beijing Shennaming Company began at an exhibition. I wanted to see their actual, state-of-the-art production line—not just the images in their promotional materials. So, when domestic brake‑industry firms were receiving and inspecting the production lines they had ordered from them, I was invited to conduct a hands‑on evaluation of the new line’s performance. As expected, this new line differed significantly from the conventional assembly lines I had observed during visits to similar companies: staffing levels had been drastically reduced, workers’ physical strain had declined, and the production pace had accelerated markedly. Waste of time among personnel had been cut to a very low level, meeting the standards of lean manufacturing. Each process step is equipped with in‑line inspection, ensuring that defective products do not proceed to the next stage. I cannot claim this is the most advanced production line by any means, but it certainly represents a substantial improvement over the manufacturing techniques I had previously encountered for comparable products. At the very least, it marks a promising exploration, a significant step forward, and a major leap in our journey toward reaching the pinnacle of automotive component excellence.
On the occasion of Beijing Shennaming Technology Co., Ltd.’s 15th anniversary, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the company. I hope it achieves even greater success as it scales the heights of cutting-edge global technology, and that it continues to make substantial contributions to China’s vision of becoming a powerhouse in the automotive industry.
